FADING SIGNAL
Fading Signal formed in late 2019 seeking to craft something unique within the current landscape of North Carolina hardcore. Originally pulling from bands such as Trash Talk and Ceremony, the band released their demo and played 2 shows in early 2020, before being brought to a halt by COVID.
During the Pandemic, Fading Signal went through a lineup change and began writing for their first EP, Nothing Feels Good Anymore, which would release in early 2021. This was followed by more lineup changes, some local shows, joining up with Safe Inside Records, and a second EP, Long Ago and Far Away, later in the year. Come 2022, the band focused more on playing shows both in their native region, and along the east coast and Midwest. In 2023 they shook up the lineup once again, continuing to tour to places like Florida, Oklahoma, and St. Louis.
In 2024, Fading Signal locked in on writing their first full length release, Only an Echo, between more touring, more local shows, recording and touring on a split with Miracle (FL), and time spent with other bands the members are active in. Some songs had been written and performed as far back as late 2022, and the additions of guitarist David Lavey, bassist Kohai, and drummer Jonathan Owens spurred them on to finishing their new LP, which builds on the sounds of their earlier material by including more melody, heavier mosh parts, and more varied song structure and lyrical themes.
